Rum & Peach Julep

EARLY EVENING PICK-ME-UPS

Our twist on a classic cocktail made famous by the Kentucky Derby, a horse race that takes place in Louisville, Kentucky. We like to use a peach jam in the place of sugar syrup, it makes a great partner to our Rum.

INGREDIENTS

  • 60 ml Pure Golden Rum
  • 2 bar spoons of good quality peach jam
  • Dash of Angostura bitters
  • 2 sprigs of mint
  • Crushed ice

METHOD

Add the Porthilly Rum, peach jam, bitters and one sprig of mint to a cocktail shaker, muddle and strain into the julep cup.

Discard the lumps of peach jam and add the muddled mint to to the cup.

Top with crushed ice, stir and garnish with the remaining mint and a straw.
